River City Heads to Waycross!!!

April 20, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · 2 Comments

We have had such a large number of requests to come and provide spay/neuter and Wellness services in Ware County, Georgia, that RCCAH is now going to add WAYCROSS, GEORGIA, to the spay day schedule!! Currently we have clients driving east from many of the communities far to the west of Brunswick, where we do several spay days each month, and this new location will help serve those folks and also the Waycross area as well.

This will make safe and affordable spay neuter and wellness services available for residents of Alma, Blackshear, Screven, Homerville, Nahunta, and Pearson townships as well as Waycross itself. We will be parking the mobile unit at the Tractor Supply Store right on US 1, so it will be easy to find, and convenient to all.

River City has been warmly welcomed by many local pet advocates in Waycross, and we look forward to making a big difference for the pets and people of this community. With everyone’s help, we plan to reduce the tragically high numbers of dogs and cats euthanized in the local animal care facility, where “surplus” animals are taken and for which few homes are found. With increased awareness of this issue of uncontrolled reproduction and with a safe and affordable option available, we are going to work very hard to make Waycross a better place for pets and their owners!!!

And the Winner Is………..

We held our TOM BRADY football jersey raffle, and our great friend Tammy Barry won the jersey. Tammy lives in Virginia, so it was a long distance win, so that Jersey has done some traveling.  Tammy has been a supporter of RCCAH since the very beginning, and she was very excited about the possibility of winning, so we are all happy that the jersey went to an appreciative winner!!

Here is what Tammy has to say:
“As a supporter of the RCCAH I was happy to purchase raffle tickets for the recent Tom Brady jersey giveaway as a way to support a top rate organization.  Imagine my surprise when I actually WON; I’m the person that never wins anything!!  The icing on the cake is Tom Brady is the ONLY football player I follow, and not just because of his looks.  RCCAH does fantastic work on a shoe string budget.  I’m happy to support their spay/neuter efforts to make a difference in pet overpopulation.”

Paws For a Cause Pet Walk and Festival

In February, RCCAH had our First Annual Paws For a Cause Pet Walk and Festival at Howard Gilman Memorial Park in St Mary’s, Georgia. Our original date was December 14, but we seem to have a River City tradition of being rained out, and that day was no exception. The February date gave us great weather and a great turnout and was a lot of fun!
